Dover Cruise has said goodbye to Carnival Legend for this year, as she sailed away from her UK homeport on 18th August after seven turnaround calls throughout the summer.
Calling in Dover week after week from June through to August 2024, thousands of her guests kick-started their cruise with the iconic view of the White Cliffs and Dover Castle. Carnival Legend’s season followed a successful 2023 at the Port with her sister ship, Carnival Pride.
Dover is now preparing for an exciting future with the cruise line, as another member of their fleet, Carnival Miracle arrives in 2025 for a set of turnaround calls.
In 2026 there will be a once-in-a lifetime chance to experience the solar eclipse at sea, as Carnival Legend returns for this special voyage and more from Dover.
Peter Wright, Head of Cruise at the Port of Dover said: “Our fantastic partnership with Carnival dates back 15 years and the opportunities continue to grow, which is really exciting. We can’t wait to welcome Carnival Miracle here next year as she embarks on her cruises to Iceland, Northern Europe and the British Isles. Carnival brings a great energy to Dover, so it’s wonderful to see the team and their guests here regularly.”
Iain Baillie, vice president international sales at Carnival Cruise Line, said: “Our 2024 summer season on Carnival Legend has been a tremendous success. Our nine and 12-day itineraries, visiting the likes of La Coruña, Porto, Lisbon, Malaga and Cartagena, have provided the ideal summer getaway for thousands of guests, all with the convenience of sailing from Dover.”
“We’d like to thank the Port of Dover for their continued support and we look forward to returning in 2025, for departures on Carnival Miracle, and in 2026, when we will offer a special 11-day Carnival Journeys Eclipse voyage. This will give guests the opportunity to witness the solar eclipse at sea and is part of a series of nine cruises from Dover in summer 2026.”
