The cruise season starts at Portsmouth International Port on 22 April, with MV Deutschland taking the honours as the first caller of 2017.
The ship, which was built in 1998, is currently chartered by the leading German cruise operator Phoenix Reisen. With room for more than 500 passengers the traditional liner MV Deutschland has 36 single cabins for solo travellers, a comparatively high number for a vessel of its size.
Whatever length or shape of cruise ship that comes calling at Portsmouth International Port in 2017, each will receive a bespoke flexible service. The cruise team has become renowned for offering flexible facilities and services that match the need of every operator and passenger, and has spent the winter making sure every single detail is ‘ship shape’ for every cruise liner that visits.
Visiting cruise passengers will be spoilt for choice when they arrive this year. With spring sunshine ‘The Great Waterfront City’ is sparkling ahead of an exciting Easter and summer season. Whatever the weather Portsmouth offers a 2017 diary packed full of fun festivals, special events and, of course, visits to world class tourist attractions that can be found right on the doorstep of Portsmouth International Port.
Harbour Master, Captain Rupert Taylor and his team have also been busy looking ahead to 2018, and have already announced a number of new prestigious customers.
